Clay Township, Ohio — This pit bull, Leonard, was given a second chance after being labeled “aggressive” and “not suitable for adoption.”

Jim Alloway, the Humane Society Director, saved Leonard from euthanasia when he saw the potential for law enforcement.

Alloway contacted Storm Dog K-9 Training and Mike Pennington (owner and operator) was interested. After initial testing, they knew that Leonard would be an ideal candidate as a narcotics dog.

Leonard began working with Storm Dog K9 Training and is now fully trained and certified. He is with his new handler and Chief of Police in Clay Township, Ohio, Terry Mitchell. They have already developed a bond and should make great partners.

Thanks to Alloway, Leonard was given a second chance.  And, it looks like this officer is embracing his new career with loyalty and dedication.

We wish the Clay Township Police force and Leonard great success.
